What subscribers say

Lauren writes clearly and authoritatively about the global structures that are holding us back from meaningful change. If you’re interested in new ways of working, this newsletter is for you.

- Anna Codrea-Rado, Freelance Journalist for The New York Times, VICE, Wired

I’ve enjoyed reading your insightful and honest (yet distinctly optimistic!) newsletter over the last few months. It’s also beautifully written.

- Sarah Trounce, Strategy Director at The Click Design

Great posts!

- Xavier Damman, Founder of Open Collective & Storify

About Lauren Razavi

I'm Lauren, an award-winning writer, researcher, speaker, and consultant interested in the future of work, borders, and cities. I'm also a digital nomad, meaning that I travel and work simultaneously and split my time between different locations each year.

I began my career as a freelance foreign reporter, working for The Guardian, Wired, VICE, The Atlantic, BBC News and other leading media titles. I visited more than 30 countries in just three years and reported on everything from Indonesian healthcare reform to how digital platforms are helping people learn English in India. I also wrote a weekly innovation column called Future Cities for Inverse.com and was a political columnist for New Statesman.

Soon, I was headhunted by Google and joined their global editorial team, working first as a writer on Google Maps and later as managing editor for the future of work, entrepreneurship, and digital skills across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. I ghostwrote material for senior executives, helping to shape their ideas, and built and managed distributed teams of freelancers to deliver everything from blog posts and white papers to video content and graphic design.

Today, my work focuses on the intersection of technology, business, policy, and human behaviour. My clients include Google, Royal Bank of Canada, Foursquare, and the Singapore Government. Email me on lauren@laurenrazavi.com if you'd like to discuss working together a project.
